GTE= GRANDE TRAVERSATA ELBANA
4 – 8 October
The Grande Traversata Elbana is a trek with a Mediterranean flavor, which will surprise you and give you great satisfaction!
You will have the opportunity to walk along unique paths with surprising views across the island, enjoy good food and cool off upon arrival with regenerating baths in the crystal clear sea of Elba!
The itinerary includes exciting and varied stages, which guarantee that you can fully enjoy the beauty of the path. The alternation of ups and downs, crazy views of the sea, lush vegetation are the keywords of this long and exciting crossing!
Two guides will accompany you along the entire route!
TREKKING DETAILS
Day 1: Cavo – Porto Azzurro.
Distance 20 km, Difference in altitude 900 m
Day 2: Porto Azzurro – Portoferraio
Distance 15 km, Difference in altitude 500 m
Day 3: Portoferraio – Procchio
Distance 10 km, Difference in altitude 500 m
Day 4: Procchio – Pomonte
Distance 16 km, Difference in altitude 950 m
Level: medium, a sufficient level of training and walking habit is required to tackle the proposed stages. The route takes place mainly on mountain and hill paths without particular technical difficulties.
The slopes and climbs are never too long or too demanding, thus making the walk quite easy.
LOGISTICS AND ORGANIZATION
Tuesday 4 October: Meeting (Liguria or Veneto) – possibility to share the trip- trip to Piombino + Ferry + Transfer to the hotel
Wednesday 5: Short transfer to Cavo and start of our super trekking! Arrival in Porto Azzurro and overnight at the hotel
Thursday 6: Porto Azzurro – Portoferraio with overnight stay in b & b
Friday 7: Portoferraio – Procchio with overnight stay in b & b
Saturday 8: Procchio – Pomonte with overnight stay in b & b
Sunday 9: Transfer by bus to Cavo, ferry and return.
COSTS AND RESERVATIONS
The cost includes:
5 nights with room and breakfast service in hotel or b & b (single room supplement)
guide service carried out by two Medium Mountain Guides
accident insurance for participants
NOT included in the cost:
all transport
lunches and dinners
Total cost: 730 € / person
Technical organization service in collaboration with Giuchina Tour, Vittorio Veneto travel agency
