Gran Paradiso
Gran Paradiso is the only 4,000-meter peak entirely within Italian territory and is one of the most sought-after summits in the Alps.
Located in the heart of the National Park of the same name, it is a 4,000-meter peak tackled “by fair means,” without ski lifts and starting on foot from the valley floor.
This allows us to better appreciate the changing scenery that the mountain offers as we gain altitude.
How the experience works
The ascent takes place over two days. On the first day, we start from Pont in Valsavarenche and, via a comfortable path, reach the Vittorio Emanuele II Refuge or the Chabod Refuge, where we stay overnight.
On the second day, we set off before dawn to tackle the climb to the summit across moraines and glaciers. The wide upper slopes lead to the summit ridge and the characteristic final rock passage that allows you to reach the statue of the Madonna at the peak, at 4,061 meters.
